Targeted Sports Program
At Eagle Vale Sports High School, students in the Targeted Sports Program (TSP) are provided with the opportunity to successfully combine their academic studies with ongoing development in their chosen sport, within a highly supportive and structured school environment.
Eagle Vale Sports High School is committed to a student-centred approach that promotes excellence across all areas of learning. Students are encouraged and supported to achieve their personal best academically, creatively, and in their sporting pursuits.
Conditions of Enrolment
Enrolment in the Targeted Sports Program (TSP) at Eagle Vale Sports High School is conditional upon students consistently meeting the attendance, behaviour, and performance expectations established by both teaching and coaching staff.
Students are required to be available to represent the school at all Sydney South West School Sport Association and NSW Combined High Schools carnivals, games, and competitions for which they are selected.
Overview
The Targeted Sports Program (TSP) at Eagle Vale Sports High School is designed to support long-term athlete development. The program places a strong emphasis on skill progression, fitness, and training, rather than competition alone.
While students may have opportunities to participate in games and competitions, these are not guaranteed. The number of games played each year varies depending on the sport, the competitions entered, and the age group in which the team competes.
The primary focus of the program is high-quality training delivered in a structured and supportive environment. Students are expected to demonstrate commitment, a willingness to learn, and a positive, coachable attitude.
Participation in the TSP is a user-pays program. Fees contribute to the provision of specialist coaching, training equipment, program uniforms (including a school jumper and sport polo shirt), venue hire, and officiating costs. Additional uniform items are available for purchase through the school. The annual program fee is $1,000, with additional transport costs applicable for selected competitions and events. Payment plans are available, and a limited number of Financial Hardship Scholarships may be offered upon application.
Students are not expected to be elite performers at a young age. The program aims to develop potential, and many students benefit from improved skills and fitness, which may support selection into local representative teams. Applicants should, however, demonstrate a sound level of fitness, fundamental skills, and meet specific sport selection criteria. Enrolment in a local sporting club is strongly recommended to further support development.
