Learning support

Eagle Vale High School support unit provides a supportive learning environment to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of individual students. The support unit consists of three mild intellectual disability (IM) classes, two moderate disability (IO) classes and one class from students with autism.

The support unit consists of 12 staff in total. Six qualified special education teachers and six student learning support officers (SLSOs). Staff, parents and students work collaboratively to develop individual educational plans (IEP) to identify areas in which individuals require adjustments or accommodations so they may access the curriculum.

Eagle Vale High School provides programs to enhance the learning experience of students. Here is an example of the programs on offer.

  • Transition to high school programs based on individual needs.
  • CafĂ© to develop life skills and work experience.
  • Work experience in a range of work placements in the Campbelltown area.
  • Travel training to give students practical experience using public transport safely.
