Library

The Eagle Vale High School library has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Library staff are very supportive and encouraging of students and collaborate with departments throughout the school.

The library is a very important part of the school. Studies have shown that a well-equipped library and the provision of trained library staff allow students to connect with their learning in many ways and are very important if students are to excel at their studies.

The library is designed to allow for different teaching and learning styles. There are spaces for class and individual work, study rooms, a small amphitheatre and a technology area.

The library encourages the development of literacy in many ways: a large fiction and non-fiction collection is maintained; students are encouraged to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge; students are able to request that books are purchased and regularly do so and daily newspapers are available.

The library is well equipped with enough computers for a class as well as a smartboard and Department of Education wi-fi. When requested the teacher librarian provides teaching on information literacy so that students can effectively use the technology and the Internet.

Students are encouraged to contact library staff to discuss any way that the library can assist them with their studies.
