Students can study a range of vocational courses including metals and engineering, construction and hospitality.
Metals and engineering
Metals and engineering industry curriculum framework course is accredited for the HSC and provides students with the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised vocational qualifications. This is known as dual accreditation. At the end of successful completion of the course, students will achieve Certificate 1 in Engineering.
Pathways to the metals and engineering industry
Skills gained in this course transfer to other occupations. Working in the metals and engineering industry involves:
- constructing
- installing
- modifying
- assembling
- making parts and equipment
- instruments and tools
- repairing and maintaining machines.
Examples of occupations in the metal and engineering industry are:
- Machinist
- Fitter
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
- Maintenance Fitter
- Toolmaker
- Locksmith.
Construction
The construction industry curriculum framework course is accredited for the HSC and provides students with the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised vocational qualifications. This is known as dual accreditation.
Successful completion of the unit (CPCCOHS1001A) will lead to the award of a construction induction card from WorkCover NSW, which allows the student access to construction sites across Australia for work purposes. At the end of successful completion of the course, students will achieve Certificate II in Construction Pathways.

- constructing buildings
- modifying building
- contracting
- measuring materials and sites
- communicating with clients
- managing personnel and sites.
Examples of occupations in the construction industry:
- building structures
- bricklaying

- shop fitting
- joinery.
Hospitality
This hospitality industry curriculum framework course is accredited for the HSC and provides students with the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised vocational qualifications. This is known as dual accreditation. At the end of successful completion of the course, students will achieve Certificate II in Hospitality pathway.
Pathways to the hospitality industry
Skills gained in this course transfer to other occupations. Working in the hospitality industry involves:
- supporting and working with colleagues to meet goals and provide a high level of customer service
- prepare menus, managing resources, preparing, cooking and serving a range of dishes.
Examples of occupations in the hospitality industry:
- Barista
- Breakfast Cook
- Trainee Chef
- Cafe Assistant
- Short Order Cook
- Fast Food Cook.
